ANZA Workshop - Melbourne 2016

ANZA Workshop 13-15 April 2016 in Melbourne

Study Taranaki were lucky enough to attend the ANZA 2016  Workshop in  Melbourne, Australia.  The workshop was a great opportunity to learn more about International Education and met with key agents interested in sending students  to Taranaki. The reigon was  represented  by Study Taranaki Coordinator  Rachael Berndt and Marketing Manger from PIHMS, Dean McCallum. (New Plymouth Girl's High School also attended the workshop separately).

We were part of Education New Zealand's fabulous New  Zealand  Pavillion, where regional agencies from 12  reigons across the country were  represented along with Education New Zealand and Immigration New Zealand.  "Team New Zealand" had a very productive and enjoyable experaince working to together in the Pavillion.

The workshop demonstrated that there are real opportunties for Taranaki to grow its links with international students and their home countries. These are:
  • identifiying markets and students who  may be eligable for pathway visas where the student arrives at secondary school level pathways  into tertiary study and even future employment
  • study options that include something else, such as study plus travel of study plus sport, or volunteering
  • many agents are looking for places to send their student that offer a real kiwi education, where  students  meet locals  in a safe and welcoming community. This is something that Taranaki can certainly offer international students
